Can person use an electric generator in place of using a power supplier?
You see….I’m looking to have my power shutt off because as a single mother with only one income, I cannot afford the bill anymore. Just looking for other options.

Power generators run off alternative power supplies, such as gasoline. Unfortunately, they are far more expensive. If it was more economical and if it was at all efficient, don’t you think a whole lot of people already would have done it?

You are not going to find a cheaper supply of electricity than the power company. Personal generators are very expensive in terms of cents per kilowatt. Solar is also very expensive specially when you look at the initial investment.
Your only out is to look for ways to save energy and those are usually not huge. Do a search on line for energy saving ideas.

You can run your house on the generator, but not the little ones you can buy for $500-$700. It’s not going to be enough to run everything. You will need a much bigger one, the one that will cost you thousands of dollars to buy, install and wire.
In addition, you will have to keep it in fuel. You will constantly be running to the gas station, or will have to arrange for regular fuel deliveries.
In short, it will cost you a lot more to power the house with the generator than to get your electricity from the electric company.
You could take steps to save power and money such as: get energy efficient bulbs, get in the habit of turning off the lights when leaving the room, unplug your cell phone charger when not using it, etc.

If that means that you generate your own electricity then you would end up paying a lot more in addition to the effort and care required.
