Any easy software for inserting math equations in .doc or .html?

I would like to insert mathematical equations in articles written in .doc or .html . Is there an easy to use software that lets me just choose the symbols, operators, Greek alphabet that I want and insert it at the point I want? Preferably a Free software. Thanks.

Mathcad is the best and it's the only1 I use.

In Microsoft Word, in the Insert menu, click on Object, and select Microsoft Equation. I have been happy with Microsoft Equation for many years.

I'll 2'nd Garypopkin on the Windows Equation Editor. That thing has symbols in it that **I've** never seen before. You can also put a button on the toolbar (see your 'Help' for instructions) so that you don't have to go thru the 'Insert' etc. sequence every time you want to use it.

It's also quite easy and 'intuitive' to use. And, if you print it out on any kind of halfway decent laser or inkjet printer, it looks as if it was typeset.

When I was in school, I would have **killed** for something like that ☺
