Very impressed actually, had never heard of this. Its very similar to the Microsoft Academic Alliance where my university has links with Microsoft to offer alot of this stuff AND Vista Business and XP Pro for FREE!

Unfortunately the Microsoft Visual Studio “Express” series is probably one of the worst things to come out of Microsoft, the feature set is pitiful even for free software. The only thing worse than this is their attempt at usurping Flash with Silverlight *cringe*
