Life after Baptism….?
I have some questions about the life after baptism. The next week I will be taking baptism, so I want to know the full details about this process.
This is going to be a lengthy, so kindly spare with me. Here are my doubts on life after baptism :
1. After taking baptism I should not listen to Film songs and Pop (English) songs. Is this true? I know that most of them are bad and evil songs.
But there are also some songs which have good meaning and is related to our life. Listening such songs motivate us from depressed state. This is my first doubt.
2. I shouldn't see movies. I know most of them are bad but there are some good motivational movies. Movies which involve lives of great people lived in this world.
I wanna learn from them, so I wanna see only those good movies which make my life better.
3. Should not going to parties. I don't have habit of going to pubs and other stuff like that. But when it comes to birthday parties I go to hotel with my friends.
Have some munching and some funny talks and sharing joy with them. So after baptism should I have to give up going to birthday parties?
4.I have habit of blogging and I make some money from my blog and give them to my parents. I spend my spare time writing articles related to computers and softwares, with my experience I guide other people
on how to get work done in a simple manner. So after taking baptism should I have to stop blogging?
5. Is doing meditation and yoga against bible? I do meditation and yoga when I fell stressed. I just concentrate on something for sometime, this relieves stress. After baptism sholud I have to stop doing meditation?
6. Attending get-together and farewell parties and some other functions at college. Should I have to stop doing them if I take baptism.
The above list are things I normally do. I don't over do them. I don't watch movies too often. I only watch good movies and that too 2 or 3 movies per year. I don't waste my time meditating. I only do it when I feel stressed. Also I go to birthday parties of my close friends only (I have 9 close friends). Also in those parties there is no room for alcohol or cigarettes or other things. We only go to hotel and have some food and just have some talk with one another. Things I routinely do are listening to songs and blogging. So anna please tell me, if I take baptism should I have stop all these things abruptly? I see nothing wrong in doing these. Because they are not bad habits. At the same time I spend time with my lord. In our family we pray to god at 5 am and also at 9pm. Other than that I meditate on bible, and listen good christian songs. So these are my list of doubts. Please help me friends
Only spiritually mature people please…
When you are baptized by the Spirit, the Spirit will be your guide into a righteous life. You don't have to go by rules but the Spirit's promptings. Water baptism isn't the same as Baptism in the Holy Spirit. When you are water baptized, you are making a public statement that you have been previously saved and baptized in the Spirit. Water baptism does not save you. It's the fire of the Holy Spirit that cleanses us, not the water!

Water baptism cannot save, and water baptism is not required for salvation. Water baptism cannot be added to Jesus's perfect salvation.
Movies are fine. Blogging is fine. But you should stop the meditation and stop the yoga.
Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in Jesus! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation.
The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to eternal hell, is by believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died for our sins on the cross as FULL PAYMENT for our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe this and you will be in heaven, no matter what!
Please pray now: "Jesus, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and You rose from the dead. Thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die.

Your baptism is an entering in of the Holy Spirit, through the water and the word. As a Christian, you should be doing what you need to do to live a God-pleasing life. Does this mean you have to give up everything?? Heavens NO!! Should you try to avoid things that make you put God to the back of your life or that prevent you from living in a God-pleasing manner. Of course. But, will you mess up occassionally and do things you shouldn't? Sure… after all, you still have a sinful nature and Satan is going to want you back!
So….
1. Listen to whatever music you want. But if you feel it is leading you in the wrong direction, then maybe you should avoid it. But honestly, my music collection is wide and varied… you'll find classical, pop, some metal, even Queen and Black Sabbath, along with my Christian music.
2. Same thing with movies.
3. God does not want us to leave the world behind. Go to parties, have a good time. Drink in moderation. If there are illegal or immoral things going on, you may want to leave, but for heavens sake…. enjoy life! (And I've been known to go to the pub with friends from our church, including Pastor!)
4. I see nothing wrong with what you are doing. That's awesome that your writing brings in an income!
5. Meditation and yoga… keep them God and Christ focused. Meditation helped me survive my time at university!
6. Again, enjoy life, celebrate with your friends! Just not to over excess and not immorally.
Blessings on your baptism. Remember we may not be of this world, but we do still live in this world.
ETA: wow, thumbs down so quickly … one is not allowed to live once they are baptized?? I'm so glad my faith allows me to live and love and enjoy life.

5. Anyone who tells you meditation is against the Bible or unChristian is, frankly, ignorant. The Psalmist said, "Be silent and know I am God." Jesus spent time alone in silence. And there is an immensely rich Christian tradition of meditation and contemplative prayer — all the way from the Desert Fathers in the early centuries of the Christian era to the Quakers of our day.

Becoming a Christian is not adopting the life of a hermit. Baptism involves commitments to God, yes, but it doesn't mean shunning life in the world. Cults do that.
